Abstract
The author of this Policy Brief argues that Lebanon is by no means immune to the spread of the Arab Spring. In particular, Lebanon is affected by the Syrian conflict in numerous ways. The antagonism between the pro- and anti-Syrian camps is rising, which in turn exacerbates the political paralysis of the country. The security situation is deteriorating and Lebanon is suffering the economic consequences of the Syrian conflict. The author suggests that a fall of the Assad regime could decrease this influence and weaken the pro- Syrian camp within Lebanon.
