Abstract
To numerous scholars, regional integration in North Africa represents one of the potential responses and thus solutions to the socio-economic difficulties in the region, such as unemployment, poverty, bad governance, and social unrest. Yet, North African economies have been ignoring each other (3% of exchanges) and their leaders have been engaged in relations marked by mutual distrust.
This study, which is based on a survey that was recently conducted in Algeria, analyses current trends in the Algerian public opinion with regards to inter-Maghreb relations, the Arab Maghreb Union’s stagnation and regional integration.
