Wars in Syria and Yemen, the Israeli-Palestinian conflict and migration, key issues of the EU-LAS joint meeting
The EU Political and Security Committee members met with the Permanent Representatives of the League of Arab States (LAS) in Brussels. They discussed most urgent issues in the MENA countries, including migration management, the Israeli Palestinian conflict, the conflict in Syria and the civil war in Yemen and stressed that a solution to these conflicts and issues can only be found by increasing EU-Arab states ‘relations. Participants welcomed efforts made by the EU and LAS member countries to strengthen their relations and renewed their will to organise an EU-LAS Summit. Counter terrorism was also addressed, as the participants indicated their will to promote a more coordinated action between LAS member states and the EU.
