Turkey’s Red Crescent sends 8.5 tons of medicine to Gaza
According to Turkish state news agency Anadolu, a delegation from the Turkish Red Crescent Society (IFRC), including its president Karam Kannik, arrived on Sunday 2 December to Gaza to provide medical assistance, food aid and clothes to the region, providing 8.5 tons of medical material. They will also inspect projects funded by the organisation, and hold meetings with the enclave’s health authorities. This comes at a time when Gaza Hospital are facing great shortage and strong precarious conditions. As Palestinian health ministry said the IFRC dispatched shipment consisted of medical supplies worth $274,000, Kannik stated that “Turkey will continue to support the Palestinian health sector”.
