Turkey arrests 249 foreign ministry personnel in post-coup investigation
Ankara’s chief prosecutor’s office ordered the arrest of 249 members of Turkey’s foreign ministry after investigations found that they had allegedly committed irregularities in the ministry’s past entrance exams, reported Reuters. The accused personnel was also suspected of entertaining links with the network of a US-based cleric, Fethullah Gulen, accused of orchestrating the attempted coup in 2016.
