On 24 January, the Secretary General of Arab Maghreb Union (AMU) Taieb Baccouche visited for the first time the Secretariat of UfM in Barcelona where he met with the UfM’s Secretary General Nasser Kamel. The objective of the visit was to initiate future collaboration between the two organisations and to seek synergies in order to “bring prosperity to the people in the region”. After the meeting the visit continued with working sessions in which the AMU’s delegation met different departments of UfM. The aim was to provide technical support and transfer of knowledge to AMU’s organization. It was agreed that AMU will participate as observer in a number of UfM’s working groups in the future.
