The European Union supports the economic integration of refugees in Morocco
A project co-financed by the European Union (with a rate of 75%), Switzerland, Monaco and Japan aims to facilitate the economic integration of refugees in Morocco. The United Nations Refugee Agency (UNHCR), leader of the project, signed a Convention, on 22 October, together with the Moroccan Association of Support to the Promotion of Small Business (AMAPPE), the National Agency for Promotion of Employment and Skills (ANAPEC) and the Office for the Development of Cooperation (ODCO) to allow refugees to benefit from integrated access to the services of these agencies, an unprecedented step towards the development of entrepreneurship initiatives and cooperatives among refugees in Morocco. The support to the development of entrepreneurship and cooperative projects among refugees in Morocco has a duration of two years, February 2018 – January 2020, for a total amount of € 828.000.
