The European Bank for Reconstruction and Development approves new strategy for Jordan
The European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) has launched Jordan’s 2020-2025 strategy. The strategy will be mainly focused on three priority areas: economic inclusion, sustainable infrastructure and green energy; a diversified access to finance; and innovation. A particular emphasis will be placed on the country’s renewable energy system, namely solar energy, with the aim of reducing Jordan’s dependency on energy imports. Further, the Bank will contribute to the creation of more job opportunities for vulnerable groups such as youth, women and people with disabilities.
