The EBRD grants Egypt a €183 million loan to develop the electricity sector
The European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) has granted the Egyptian Electricity Transmission Company (EETC) a €182.9 million loan. The loan is intended to support the development of a more resilient and robust electricity grid across the country by strengthening the transmission network. This support is necessary since demand for electricity is expected to grow over the next ten years. The EBRD has invested over €5.5 billion in 102 projects in Egypt since it started operating there in 2012.
