On 11 September, the SAMI Navantia Naval Industries, a joint venture between Saudi Arabian Military Industries (SAMI) and Navantia S.A., signed a €900 million agreement with the Spanish naval industry Navantia. The agreement was signed in the presence of SAMI Chairman Ahmed Al-Khateeb and Navantia Chairwoman Susana de Sarriá, the CEO of SAMI Andreas Schwer and the CEO of SAMI-Navantia Antonio Rodriguez-Barberan, among other officials. The agreement is part of Saudi Vision 2030, a plan that aims to localize 50% of the overall Saudi military spending by 2030. The two parts will collaborate on Combat System Integration (CSI) on the Avante 2200 corvettes for the Royal Saudi Naval Forces.
