Morocco and Mauritania sign agreement on Hydrocarbons and Mining
Morocco and Mauritania signed, on Wednesday 12 December in Nouakchott, a partnership agreement in the field of hydrocarbons and mining. The agreement was signed by the Director General of the National Office of Hydrocarbons and Mining (ONHYM) Amina Benkhadra and the Director General of the Mauritanian Company for Hydrocarbons and Mining (SMHPM) Fall N’Guissaly. “It aims to strengthen the sharing, between Morocco and Mauritania, of expertise, training and know-how in the field of hydrocarbons”, Benkhadra said. She added that this accord was signed on the sidelines of the 5th “Mauritanides” conference-exhibition of the oil and mining sector in Mauritania held on Dec. 11-13 in Nouakchott, with the participation of a strong Moroccan delegation. The officials said the conference offers rich opportunities for contacts with many companies in the field of hydrocarbons and mining, as well as with Mauritanian officials.
