Moroccan FM meets his Egyptian counterpart in Cairo
On 1 July, the Moroccan FM Nasser Bourita met his Egyptian counterpart Sameh Shoukry and reported a message from Morocco’s King Mohammed VI to Egyptian president Abdel Fattah Al-Sisi. During the meeting, the two ministers underlined the successful bilateral relations and stressed the importance of exploring new horizons and expanding cooperation between the two countries in new areas. Bourita and Shoukry also discussed about several issues regarding the MENA region and Africa. At the end of the meeting, they stressed the importance of finding mechanisms of solidarity within the League of Arab States and undertaking joint Arab actions. Referring to the many crises in the region, they stressed the importance of finding political solutions that ensure the security, stability and sovereignty of Arab states. They also discussed African Union-related issues, as the Egyptian president is the actual chair of the organization.
