Lebanese Prime Minister visits the United Arab Emirates
On 7 October the Lebanese Prime Minister Saad al-Hariri arrived in Abu Dhabi to meet with Crown Prince Muhammad bin Zayed and to participate in the UAE-Lebanon Investment Forum to step up economic cooperation between the two countries. After the bilateral meeting, bin Zayed announced the lifting of the ban for UAE citizens to visit Lebanon. They also discussed bilateral relations and how to develop them in all areas, especially in the field of economics, investment and development, in order to support the common interests of both countries. According to regional media, Hariri’s visit aimed to find financial support from the UAE in order to help the country’s economy which is experiencing a protracted crisis. The leader of the UAE promised financial assistance to revive Lebanese economy and ensured that Abu Dhabi is ready to contribute to the country’s security and stability.
