On 20 April, a kick off meeting of the EuroMeSCo Eni Project took place in Brussels. The meeting counted with the participation of Irène Mingasson, Head of Unit of Regional Programmes Neighbourhood South at DG NEAR.

The members of the project´s consortium discussed the topics of the research groups to be formed in the first year of the project. It was decided that in the first year of the project, the following research groups will be developed:

Working Package 1

Review of the European Neighbourhood Policy, to be led by the European Institute of the Mediterranean

Working Package 2

Youth Activism in the South and East Mediterranean Countries since the Arab Uprisings: Challenges and Policy Options, to be led by the Istituto Affari Internazionali

Working Package 3

Terrorist Threat in the Euro-Mediterranean, to be led by Al Ahram Centre for Political and Strategic Studies

Working Package 4

Migration and Refugees. Impact and Future Policies, to be led by the Centre for Strategic Studies
