EU denounces US decisions not to extend waivers to purchase Iran’s oil
On 4 May, the High Representative of the EU Federica Mogherini and the Foreign Ministers of France, Germany and the United Kingdom issued a statement noting their regret and concern of the decision by the US not to extend waivers with regards to trade in oil with Iran. Jointly, they also noted with concern the decision of the US not to fully renew waivers for nuclear non-proliferation projects in the framework of the JCPoA (Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action). It’s been almost a year since President Trump unilaterally withdrew from the Iran Nuclear Deal. However, the trio has expressed their intentions to remain “committed to working on the preservation and maintenance of financial channels and exports for Iran”, read RT news site.
