EU and Arab ambassadors meet in Brussels
On 23 January, the members of the EU Political and Security Committee and the Permanent Representatives of the League of Arab States (LAS) held their 8th meeting in Brussels. The representatives addressed the situation in Syria, Iraq, Yemen, Libya, Lebanon, and Iran. In particular, they discussed the situation in Palestine and the need for building just and comprehensive peace in the Middle East. As declared in a joint communiqué released after their meeting, the Ambassadors restated their commitment to consolidate Euro-Arab relations, in particular on topics of mutual interest such as conflict prevention, early warning and crisis management, migration, nonproliferation of weapons of mass destruction and arms control.
