Boat wrecked near Libyan coast
On March 19, a boat wrecked in front of the Libyan coast near the city of Sabratha, West of Tripoli. At least 10 people died in the accident, while 17 people were rescued and returned to Libya, where most of them were hospitalized. The migrants were of sub-Saharan origin and embarked on the trip aiming to reach European shores. At the present time, at least 152 people have died while trying to cross the Central Mediterranean route since the beginning of 2019.
