Almost 50 Palestinians wounded in “Nakba” anniversary protest on Gaza-Israel border
On 15 May, nearly 50 Palestinians at the Gaza border were wounded by Israeli troops during protests to mark the 71st anniversary of the “Nakba”. Groups approached the border fence while planting Palestinian flags and throwing stones toward Israeli troops on the other side. The troops started firing tear gas and rubber bullets but also, reportedly, live ammunition. The Gaza Health Ministry reported at least 47 wounded. The Israeli military said that about 10.000 rioters and demonstrators gathered in several places along the Gaza fence.
