7 people died and 26 got injured in a suicide attack in Egyptian Sinai
On 9 April in the town of Sheikh Zuweid (northern Sinai), a suicide attack provoked the death of 7 people between members of Egyptian Security Forces and civilians. An Islamic State-affiliated group claimed the responsibility of the attack as reported by the AFP news agency. The Egyptian interior ministry declared on social media that a 15 – years – old boy set off the attack, close to a police station. The instability of the northern region of Sinai has grown since the Egyptian security forces launched the campaign named “Operation Sinai 2018” to contrast radicalized militias in the region.
