4th of July elections in Algeria cancelled
Algeria’s constitutional council, citing a lack of valid candidates, decided that it will not be possible to hold presidential elections on 4 July as planned. Although protesters have called for interim President Abdelkader Bensalah’s removal and that of PM Noureddine Bedoui, Bensalah was asked by the council to organize the vote at a later date. A new date has not yet been set.
