Social Inquiry
Mission and objectives
Social Inquiry is a research institution and group of experts whose aim is to improve the impact and effectiveness of public policies and interventions that seek to address the root causes of conflict related to governance, civic trust and inequality. We work in conflict-affected and fragile societies with local and international partners through cross-disciplinary applied research that explores their intersecting political, social, psychological, economic, and historical dimensions.
The institution was founded in 2017 in Iraq. In 2023, we opened a research coordination and liaison branch in Barcelona. Our programs cover a stream of intersecting topics of importance for conflict prevention across different contexts. Within each of these, we conduct innovative qualitative, quantitative, and action research combining the subject-matter expertise of our researchers with in-depth knowledge of context to enhance the impact of peace public policies.
