MRI - Migration Research Institute
Mission and objectives
The Migration Research Institute was established in the autumn of 2015 with the purpose of researching present-day immigration to Europe, as well as presenting the diverse and complex phenomenon of migration to the general public. We pay particular attention to the political, economic, security, cultural-religious and international legal aspects of migration with a special regard to Europe, the key countries of origin and the transit regions. Consequently, the background of their researchers are highly diverse: their institute has security policy experts, African and Turkish researchers, historians, lawyers, political scientists and economists.
The institute researches the political, economic, security, cultural-religious and international legal aspects of migration with a special regard to Europe, the key countries of origin and the transit regions.
Its analytical work is augmented by field research: our staff members regularly visit the key regions around our continent, and those European frontier countries and host countries which are most affected by mass immigration. Their reports and analysis regularly appear in Hungarian media, we also frequently interpret migration-related news.
