IFK - Institute for Peace Support and Conflict Management
Mission and objectives
The Institute for Peace Support and Conflict Management (IFK) is a research department of the Austrian National Defence Academy – the highest teaching and training centre of the Austrian Armed Forces.
The broad expertise of the Institute arises primarily through the systematic merging of regional expertise, an understanding of security policy and a special knowledge of international crisis and conflict management.
Through its participation in numerous national and international research networks, a Center of Excellence in the field of security policy analysis has been established. The IFK therefore also functions as a nationwide think tank. The general and specifically prepared expertise flows into the four core tasks of the institute – policy consulting, research, education and public relations.
