Mission and objectives

The Foundation for Strategic Research is a non-profit independent think tank established in Paris since 1993.

The mission of the Foundation is on the one hand to stimulate, support and realize studies on defence and security issues for French Ministries and European Union institutions and on the other hand to act as a key promoter of the national and international security debate. It is the only French institute working exclusively on those matters. The main research fields within the Euromed/Middle East programme are: Security Sector Reform, Middle East Armed forces sociology and policy involvement, Strategic landscape, EU Mediterranean policy, Terrorism and radicalization.
