Mission and objectives

The Center for Research and Studies in the Social Sciences is a scientific organization whose main activity is organizing, supervising and deepening research on the Middle East and North Africa. This is done through specialized research units.

The CRESS organizes seminars, symposia and workshops on various themes in the social sciences; publishes magazines, periodicals, books and report of the various events it organizes; and coordinates research units´ activities. The CRESS also supports other institutions and drives specialised training.

The center´s main areas of research are: the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, the oil issue in the region, the question of democracy in the region.
