General Statement

Created as a public institution by virtue of the law of October 25 1993, the Tunisian Institute for Strategic Studies, headquartered in Tunis, assumes a mission of research, study, analysis and short and long-term prospecting on all questions pertaining to events and developments at the national and international levels, which are likely to be related to the process of development of Tunisian society in all the political, economic, social and cultural fields; the aim being to explain these issues and anticipate their evolution. The Institute also examines all questions submitted to it as part of this mission.


The Institute is in charge of:

Collecting and assessing strategic studies and data;

Developing various working tools allowing it to accomplish its mission, particularly databanks and documentation;

Establishing relations with institutions, bodies, universities and research centers in Tunisia and aboard;

Organizing meetings and seminars bringing together Tunisian and foreign experts.
