ZEI is a research institute at the University of Bonn. It was founded in 1995. Ever since, the center has been engaged in future-oriented research, consultancy, and events linking science, practice and public, as well as graduate education and training.
ZEI contributes to discussing solutions to unsolved issues of European integration and to the shaping of Europe’s international role. ZEI’s research is demand-driven and development-oriented in that the most prominent developments are being worked on and analyzed in independent research groups. It integrates legal, economic and social as well as cultural and political issues in an interdisciplinary context. It also offers academics as well as policy-makers, representatives of businesses, and lobbyists an international forum for discussion of all aspects of European integration.
